Congratulations you have just found your dream horse!!! If… you’re looking for a big stocky built, very gentle, friendly, laid back, easy going, not spooky, smooth gaited trail horse?
Big Red comes by his name honest because he is big! Wide built like a quarter horse, lots of muscle mass with a thick structure, standing just a shade under 16hh… but for every 1” he is tall and every pound he is heavy, he is just as gentle and Safe!!!
Big Red has been trail ridden and camping in several states. He has been trail ridden by beginners of various ages and although he is built to carry a heavy load he is gentle enough to carry the small family members. He will ride up or down steep rocky slopes, hop off creek banks, walk in or out of creeks easily, is VERY traffic safe and I do mean traffic safe(watch the video!!!). He has even exposed to tarps, isn’t even scared of buckets or tubs being tossed at him. He has been squirrel hunted off of and is gun safe as we have shot off of him multiple times, even while standing up on him or using him as a steady to aim a rifle off of.
Big Red is very natural and smooth gaited, has a nice short lope, neckreins and backs. He is easy to tack up, wash, clip, load(backs off easily as well) and leave the barn with no issues. He will ride in the front or back or alone confidently.
Just watch Big Reds video, he speaks for himself! You won’t find a safer or gentler, more experienced trail horse!
